NOKES-LASATER FIELD

Nokes-Lasater Field serves as the home of the Cumberland football program and includes a 5,000-seat stadium with lights along with two 70-yard practice fields. The facility also houses a team locker room, athletic training facilities, two concession stands, restrooms on the home and visitor sides of the stadium, a six-lane asphalt track, along with a large building for storage.

Cumberland moved into the facility in June 2012 and leases the area from the Wilson County Board of Education. The University spent upwards of $400,000 during the summer of 2012, renovating the locker rooms and coaches offices with carpeting and central heat and air, as well as pressure washing and painting the bulk of the facility. Also an old locker room was converted into a full athletic training area and showers and restrooms were installed in another old locker room for use by visiting teams.

The locker room area can hold up to 130 players and the area for players includes a restrooms and showers along with one meeting one and a small lounge with a TV. The offensive and defensive coordinators each have offices and the rest of the assistants share a large area that has particians for each coach. The two graduate assistants share an office that includes video equipment and the coaches have a locker room and showers separate from the players.

Team equipment also has an area just off the players’ locker room along with washers and dryers. The large storage building on the home side of the stadium houses mowers and other outdoor equipment along with gameday needs such as blockade barrels and saw horses along with blocking dummies used by the squad during practice.
